Daikin Air Purifiers

Does the Daikin Air Purifier need to be setup by a specialist?

The Daikin Air Purifier does not need to be setup by a specialist for use.

Simply plug the power cord into a power point and your Daikin Air Purifier is ready for instant and easy operation.

The sensitivity of the Air Quality Sensor seems low?

Generally, low sensitivity of the air quality sensor occurs due to a delay reaction time of the sensor, which can be affected by the units placement and the size of the room the air purifier is in.

For example, if the unit is installed at a lower position in the room, reaction to the smoke of cigarettes or other airborne particles in the higher part of the room may be delayed.

To address any sensitivity issues with the sensor, try altering the placement of the unit or adjust the sensitivity of the air quality sensor on the unit.

What are the four layers of filtration of a Daikin Air Purifier?

  • Prefilter - captures large particles
  • Deodorising Filter - removes odours
  • HEPA Filter - removes 99.7% of fine particles
  • Streamer Technology - removes odours, bacteria and formaldehyde

What is Streamer Technology?

Daikin Streamer technology features a high-power plasma discharge that generates high-speed electrons to decompose harmful substances.

This powerful oxidative decomposition process continuously removes odours, bacteria and indoor air pollutants such as formaldehyde for superior air purification.

What household pollutants can Daikin Air Purifiers trap and control?

Daikin air purifiers capture, suppress and break down a number of pollutants found in the home including mould, pollen, allergens such as dust mite droppings and remains, odours, formaldehyde, diesel particulate matter, nitrous oxide and can also trap dust and small particulates.

How loud are the Daikin Air Purifiers?

All Daikin Air Purifiers have whisper quiet operation with sound levels of as low as 19dBA (in Quiet Mode).

What are the suggested placement positions for the Daikin Air Purifier?

There are different benefits to different placements of a Daikin Air Purifier and each will depend on your own desired purpose.

To remove house dust, it is most effective to place the unit at a lower position in the room. To remove cigarette smoke, it is more effective to install the unit in a higher part of the room.

Furthermore, if you install the air purifier opposite an air conditioner, circulating air is cleaned during cooling and heating operations of the air
conditioner.

Identifying which of the above best suits your needs will help you make an informed decision in using your Daikin Air Purifier.

A fizzing sound is heard during operation. Is this normal?

Do not worry because this is just normal. The Streamer Discharge creates the hissing noise during operation. Depending on usage conditions, the sound becomes lower or the sound quality might change, but this does not indicate any problem with operation.

Daikin Air Purifiers - Maintenance

Does the Daikin Air Purifier need to be maintained?

Despite of its effectiveness in performing the job, the Air Purifier needs to be cleaned and maintained, especially the Prefilter which serves as the first stage of air filtration.

Details on cleaning procedures can be found on the Operation Manual along with the box for your ease and convenience.

The prefilter is dirty. How should I clean it?

You can use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust on your prefilter, then remove and wash the Prefilter with water and leave it in shade to dry off. If excessive dust accumulated on the Prefilter, you could also use a soft brush and gently brush off the spaces in between the grid.

Do not use excessive force when brushing it off or else, the filter might get damaged.

Can the Dust Collection Filter or HEPA Filter be cleaned?

No. Please do not attempt to clean the HEPA Filter with a vacuum cleaner or water.

Can the Deodorising Filter be cleaned?

Yes, you can clean it when dry with a vacuum cleaner and leave the part in a shaded, breezy area (for about 1 day). No need to replace this filter. Please do NOT use water to clean the Deodorising Filter or it may lose its shape and becomes unusable. If you have inadvertently washed it with water, contact us.
